The Only Mortal in Heaven, Episode 9: Alive and Wanted

Angel hesitates, then gives in. 'If this is what it takes.' In the finale of The Only Mortal in Heaven, Episode 9, Asmodea finally learns what an angel tastes like, pulling Angel close before both of them turn to William. Red fire and blue light swirl together over his chest as the rite takes hold at last. An angel is kissing him and she does not stop. This, he thinks, is paradise.

That swirl of red and blue is the loop of the whole series. Then the light fades and William opens his eyes in his own bed, sunlight pouring through his own window. On either side, two familiar faces sleep. No wings. No horns. One gave up heaven, the other gave up hell, and two women meant to live forever chose a mortal life with him.
