The Only Mortal in Heaven, Episode 7: A Way Back

The loop: Asmodea sauntering across the hall in black leather, leaning in close, then her smile dropping. That turn is the one you rewind. The archangel calls Angel away on urgent business, and William waits alone by a window while every demon in the room stares at the human. Asmodea reminds him tonight is still on, sweet thing, so he had better not make her come looking. Then she catches a scent on him: feathers.

Angel returns with golden marks on her legs and big news. The archangel dug up old chronicles, and there is a way to send William back to Earth. 'Back? I'm dead.' There is a ritual, and she will explain it in the ward. Asmodea purrs that she would not miss it. By his bed, the catch slides out: he goes home alive, but both his guardians pay a price. Episode 7 of The Only Mortal in Heaven turns the heat into a hard choice.
