Therapy With My Stepmom, Episode 3: Living With My Stepmom

The loop: hot coffee spilling down silk, Cole's hands grabbing a napkin, and Richard looking up from his tablet. Three beats. Endless rewind.

Episode 3 opens with Richard walking back in for his laptop, pleased that everyone is getting along. Riley hands Cole a card. She is sending him to Dr. Marsh, and whatever happened between them never happened. A week after she moves in, Cole still has no idea how to act around her. Then breakfast goes sideways. Coffee hits her robe, he reaches to help, and for the first time in five years Richard actually looks up, straight at Cole's hands on her chest. "Nothing, it's fine. I'll just go take a shower." That night the hallway is dark and her door sits ajar. She catches him looking, wrapped in a towel, and she smiles. "Come in and look properly." The loop is the tease. The episode is the payoff.
